Live at Haven House

Updated: 4 days ago

College can be overwhelming — and many Christian students end up feeling alone, stressed, and disconnected from their faith.

Haven House is a Christ-centered home for students at Stockton University where they find community, mentorship, and a place to truly belong.

Here, students grow spiritually, stay grounded, build healthy habits, and thrive — not just academically, but emotionally and in their faith.

No student should have to do college alone. If you or someone you know is looking for a supportive Christian community, schedule a visit or apply today at Haven House.

What is the Resident Fellows Program?

Our Resident Fellows program is more than a place to live near the Stockton University campus. A vital part of the program is your connection to an experienced mentor who can provide guidance and support. Mentors are individuals who have navigated similar challenges and can share their insights and experiences. You may already have a person in your life who you trust to be your Mentor. If not, we can connect you to one of the many Christian alumni or local Christian leaders who will dedicate time to meet with you twice a month. Mentors help you set goals, overcome obstacles, and develop the skills you need to succeed spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.

Why Mentoring Matters

Mentoring is more than just advice. It is about building a relationship based on trust and understanding. Here are some reasons why mentoring is important:

  • Personal Growth: Mentors can help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, guiding you toward personal development.

  • Career Guidance: Whether you are unsure about your career path or looking to advance in your current job, mentors can provide valuable insights.

  • Networking Opportunities: Mentors often have extensive networks that can open doors for you in your career.

  • Emotional Support: Life can be tough, and having someone to talk to can make a significant difference.

Who Can Join the Resident Fellows Program?

The Resident Fellows program is open to self-professed Christian young adults aged 18 to 30 with solid references and a commitment to life in a Christian community. Whether you are a student, recent graduate, or someone looking to make a career change, we welcome you to apply. We believe that everyone can benefit from mentorship, regardless of their background or experience.

How to Apply

Applying to our Resident Fellows program is simple. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Fill out the Resident Fellows Interest Form: Provide your basic information, and we will contact you. Click Here for the Form.

  2. If pre-approved, we will send you the Application. Once your application is approved, you will be invited to an orientation session where you will learn more about Haven House and the program.

  3. Sign the lease and confirm your Mentor: After the orientation, we will connect with your mentor or match you with a mentor based on your interests and goals.

What to Expect from the Program

Our vision is to establish a strong, faith-based presence at Stockton University, offering students an alternative worldview rooted in the Bible and fellowship. For student members of campus groups such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Stockton Christian Fellowship, and Ratio Christi, or local church young adult groups, we encourage you stay fully engaged and host Bible studies, worship, and fellowship gatherings at Haven House.

Weekly Table Fellowship and Bible Study Gatherings

All Resident Fellows help invite and host friends for Table Fellowship every Monday night at 6:30 PM. These are times when residents and others are invited to connect, share stories, fellowship, pray, and practice the operation of the gifts of the Spirit in community.

Goal Setting

Together with your mentor, you will set specific goals for your personal and professional development. This will help you stay focused and motivated. Fellows agree to meet with their mentor twice a month to review progress and revise goals.

Skills and Relationship Development

Mentors can help Fellows develop essential skills, such as communication, prayer, problem-solving, dating and relationships, preparation for marriage, thinking biblically, and time management. These skills are crucial for success in any field, including ministry.

Events

Identity & Purpose Intensives are offered three times per year. All Resident Fellows are expected to attend at least one during their program. Periodically, we will also host networking events where you can meet other participants and mentors. These events are an excellent opportunity to expand your network and learn from others.

The Benefits

Joining our Resident Fellows program can have a lasting impact on your life. Here are some of the benefits you can expect:

  • Increased Confidence in Christ: You will gain confidence in your relationships, spiritual growth, and decisions.

  • Clarity in Calling: The Resident Fellows program helps you clarify your calling, define your goals, and create a roadmap to fulfill your purpose.

  • Supportive Community: You will be part of a community of young adults who are also seeking to grow in Christ and serve Him through their lives, relationships, and careers.

  • Lifelong Connections: The relationships you build with your mentor and peers can last a lifetime. Resident Fellows will be admitted into the Stockton Christian Alumni Association with regular updates and periodic events.
